What is coming up for me today as I ponder ways to define how the end is the beginning? How are things unfolding as a spiral? And how can we each be open to new endings and beginnings?

We will also be tasting a radical self love tea blend that Tyler has formulated for the season, iwillalwaysloveyou. Tea blend includes hawthorne berries, rose petals, lemon balm, lavender, and a few other herbal surprises that you’ll discover if you attend the workshop!

Breaking Free
“I want to break free
I want to break free
I want to break free from your lies
You’re so self-satisfied I don’t need you
I’ve got to break free
God[exx] knows, God[exx] knows I want to break free…”
- I Want to Break Free Freddie Mercury/Queen
I’ve really been feeling into a lot of the power love ballads as of late, especially as relates to lending them a self love voice. Go ahead and give another listen to one of your favorite power love ballads. Maybe it’s Halo by Beyonce? Or I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton or Whitney Houston? Go ahead and give it another listen right now...or listen to the Queen song. I doubt you’ll regret it. This practice puts me in tears and broken voice every time. That self love catharsis will get me every time.
I begin this post with the opening lyrics to I Want to Break Free by Freddie Mercury and Queen because it has been my power-self-love-break-free-of-old-habits-and-patterns-shake-up-song. It’s really fun to dance and sing along to this one. Freddie made every song such an act of drama.
You know what else feels really dramatic? A new year about to begin! Fuck yeah, 2020!
The Solstice and Holidays denouemont always leaves me feeling in a bit of an uncomfortable free fall while I spend some time sitting a quiet, blank space with me, myself, and I. This free fall is an unavoidable part of the cycle. But the only way through this life is through.
We are just a few days away now from the New Year, a new decade, a new calendar cycle. What do you want to bring with you? What do you want to leave behind? How do you need to break free? How can you work to build new methods of attraction to the abundance you wish to draw in the world in 2020?
I’m making a lot of lists, have a few tarot spreads planned, and many deep dives into my journal to help me purge, plan, divine, and project the reality I wish to see for my world in 2020. 20/20 signifies clear vision. I’d like to bring a healthy dose of that with me into the next year. I want to bring with me a love and care for my own complexity. And, among many other more mundane and very personal goals, I wish to make more connection integrated in intentional community.
What do you have planned for 2020? More importantly, what is your power self love ballad for 2020? How will you break free?
Action
This week I weave connections with action, response, and responsibility during the beginning of Capricorn season. And I get an informative assist from the Thoth deck’s Queen of Wands archetype.
Read MoreRest
What can we learn about ways to be in relationship to rest from the astrological, mythic, and cyclical stories we tell ourselves about the life death, and rebirth cycle? What can we learn from the collective and individual darkness? And what do I mean when I say I want to be a fishy Capricorn? Also cupid butts are cute, and have zero correlation to this blog post, I just wanted to make you look and hopefully read on…;) Happy last solar week in Sagittarius y’all!
